Each document goes through three stages. The whole process takes seconds, not minutes.
OCR Extraction
We extract raw text from every page of your document using Google Cloud Document AI. This works on scanned PDFs, photographed pages, and digitally created files alike.
Even the best OCR makes mistakes — garbled characters, misread formulas, broken tables. That's where the next step comes in.
AI Text Cleanup
An LLM reviews the extracted text and fixes OCR errors — garbled characters, broken formulas, misread technical terms, and formatting artifacts that would confuse any downstream tool.
This is the key step that separates Ellide from a basic PDF-to-text converter. The AI understands context, so it can fix "Tho Lmpact of Artlficlal lntelligence" back to "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence."
Structuring
The cleaned text is organized into proper Markdown with headings, lists, tables, and page boundaries. The result is a document that any tool can parse — not a wall of unformatted text.
Whether your original file is 2 MB or 600 MB, the clean text output is always tiny. We're not compressing your file — we're distilling it down to pure content, stripping away the image data your AI was never able to read anyway.
